WHAT ARE YOU DOING WITH ALL OF YOUR PAST EBAY CUSTOMERS?

If you’ve been selling on eBay for some time, you probably have a list with a few hundred or even a few thousand customers. Have you done anything to market to these customers?

It’s been said that obtaining a new customer can cost over 5 times what it cost to keep an existing customer. You’ve invested your money to get someone to buy from you in the first place… why would you throw that money away?

Here’s one way you can take advantage of your previous customer list. Put all the email addresses of your past list together in one spot. Then, take that list of email addresses and email them! Keep in regular contact with them, these are your happy customers. They won’t mind hearing from you if you’re sending them useful information. Send them an email once a week. Let them know about any special sales you’re having on your inventory.

Here’s the secret: when you send your customers back to your eBay auctions or to your store, use the eBay Publisher Network. What is the eBay Publisher Network? It’s eBay’s affiliate program where eBay will pay you to send people to the eBay website.

You heard right… eBay pays you! You might be wondering, what’s the catch? Well so far, I haven’t found one. It’s really easy to sign up, and really easy to make affiliate links to eBay. Over the past few weeks I’ve earned $757.21 in eBay affiliate commissions sending out only 8 emails to my past eBay customers – that’s not even including the repeat sales I got from driving them back to my auctions.

How does it work? Well you put the affiliate link in your email, your customer clicks the link and then eBay tracks if they make a purchase. Anything that your customer buys on eBay within 7 days of clicking the link, you’ll earn a commission on.
